February 2008

ARE YOU BETTER?"

It is a blessed pleasure to address you once again.  We have passed through the first month of the new year of 2008.  Now that we have entered into the month of February, I think it’s a splendid time to take a personal inventory of where we are in the arena that counts the most, the arena of the soul.

The Lord had been speaking to us here at the O’Fallon Apostolic Assembly about the need to conquer the demons that have plagued our past.  The Lord has said in no uncertain terms that the things that have held us in spiritual bondage throughout the course of 2007, should hold us no longer in 2008.

One of the things that we identified was the fleshly tendency to anger.  We further realized that when anger is allowed to fester in evolves into bitterness.  The message God sent to us was, “Are You Bitter or Are You Better?”   That was back in June or July of 2007.  Then the Lord says again, “Are You Still Bitter, or Are You Better?”  It was the kind of introspection that only comes from the Holy Spirit.

God knows that it is all too easy for us to put on faces and pretend that all is well.  It is socially acceptable to keep our “religion” intact all the while our souls are dying within us.  But the answer is here, our help is nigh at hand.  The scripture says to look unto Him all ye lands and be saved (Isa 45:22).  He alone is the antidote for of our soul’s diseases.  But we must be truthful.  Are we still harboring ill will against someone?  Are we prone to see others as the causes for our life’s difficulties, whether real or imagined?  Are we still angry or are we better?  What’s your answer?
